Weapons
There are many races found in the manga and anime series of Bleach, including Quincy, Shinigami, Bount, Hollow, Arrancar, and of course, Humans. The following is a list of the main weapons used by some of these races:
Zanpakutō
A Zanpakutō is the main weapon used by both Shinigami and Arrancar. For Shinigami, a Zanpakutō will usually take the form of a sword, and is used primarily to purify souls. A Shinigami's Zanpakutō has two stages of release, with Shikai being the first and Bankai the second. An Arrancar's Zanpakutō may vary in shape more than a Shinigami's. They also have a released form, with the difference being that an Arrancar's Zanpakutō is his or her hollow form and power sealed into a sword, and his or her release, or Resurrección, returns this power to him or her. They use primarily Spanish names and terms.
Doll
A Doll is the main weapon used by the Bount.
Bakkōtō
A Bakkōtō is a weapon created by the Kasumiōji Clan.
Bow and Arrow
The Quincy utilize a bow and arrows to fight their opponent.
Guns
The world of Bleach doesn't have many firearms. This is likely for two reasons: reason one is that Japan has very strict gun control laws, especially in cases that apply to minors, and reason two is that the series is very spiritual in nature, and it has long been contended that guns have no souls or spirits, while traditional weapons do, particularly swords and bows. There are exceptions to the aforementioned rules in the series, however, such as Ran'Tao's use of a unique Kidō shooting arquebus in her fight against Jin Kariya, the shotgun Renji Abarai carries in the world of the living and Starrk using two barrel Cero guns in his released form.
