Most of sources for our Bleach manga viewing usually, if not most the time comes from scanlations. As we should know, scanlations are scans, and translations made by fans, hence why some people in Japan questioned the excessive use of the "F" word in most scanlations, when shonen's are suppposed to be safe to be viewed by children. But this is not what I wanted to discuss.

The thing about fan translations are, they tend to spice up the dialogue written by the original author. Now, translators out there, this is my opinion only, not to lash out at you (why if it were for you guys, we won't be getting Bleach every week). It's just that some translator changes the dialogue that it no longer became the original dialogue.

Example, in Manga Episode Mala Suerte, the scene after D Roy was killed by Rukia, her Mod Soul inside her gigai describes her zanpaktou. Afterwards she explains Byakuya makes sure she doesn't receive any seated position for her safety. The next following dialogue varies:-

SCANLATION 1

Mod Soul: Pyon..

Ichigo: Please stop making that ridiculous sound, and can you please get off of me?

SCANLATION 2

Mod Soul: Pyon..

Ichigo: So she is a spoiled brat. Can you get off of me now?

Ichigo's dialogue varies in the two translation. Some may consider this change is minor, but some may take translation to be a fact that Rukia is pampered by Byakuya too much.

Sometimes, translations were changed to spice up the characters dialogue, particularly a favorite characters dialogue.

Example, in Manga Episode, Deathbringer Numbers, the scene after Starrk revealed his Espada tattoo, the following dialogue varies:-

SCANLATION 1

Kyoraku: This is going to be troublesome.

SCANLATION 2

Kyoraku: Looks like this ain't gonna be to easy.

SCANLATION 3

Kyoraku: Heh, this is going to be interesting.

Some fans that reads scanlation more often accept the translation as an actual fact. Now based on SCANLATION 2, fans will assume, Kyoraku can easily defeat the other two Espada, namely Baraggan and Harribel, despite the possibility of it being a spiced up dialogue.

Also some translation error may occur due to the fact the translator misunderstood the meaning of the dialogue written.

Example, Manga Episode Execution, Extinction, after Harribel was slashed by Aizen:-

SCANLATION 1

Aizen: Gin, Kaname...Let's go!

SCANLATION 2

Aizen: Gin, Kaname...We're leaving.

SCANLATION 3

Aizen: GIn, Kaname...It's pointless, let's leave.

Now, the original message was SCANLATION 1. The message was Aizen telling Gin and Kaname to fight their enemies. However, since it's the last dialogue in that episode, translators assume it means Aizen telling the two their retreating. This causes several confusion to the fans, where entered a pointless debate as to why Aizen stayed and fight, why said their leaving during the previous episode.

Another one would be on Execution, Extinction 2:-

SCANLATION 1

Aizen: Who would have thought after all the trouble I've been through gathering you Espadas...

Aizen: You will all fail me so miserably..

SCANLATION 2

Aizen: Who would have thought after all the trouble I've been through gathering you Espadas...

Aizen: I would be stronger than the lot of you.

Fans who read Scanlation 2 would consider it as a fact that Aizen is stronger that all ten Espadas combined. This will cause overexaggeration of his power, which will lead to dissapointment in the coming episodes.

I'm writing this to explain to some fans that words written are not facts. It's depressing seeing people argue over the words written in scanlations.

Feel free to add several different translations you guys might have spotted in different Scanlations.

That is all..Thanks for your time.
