I am so sorry I have been so M.I.A lately. I have been working a lot and preparing for a big trip, so most of my activity as of late has been basic wiki editing (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). So this week I will be doing a double-episode review and I am announcing to those who don't already know, that I will be on hiatus from now (Wednesday, June 27) until Sunday, July 8. After July 8, I will do another double-review and everything will be back to normal.

For episode 258:

Again, it's another one of these pointless, but harmless filler episodes. The writing isn't great, but it isn't unholy hell spawn either. It's nice that the writers of the show attempt to develop Yuzu and Karin more as individual characters, but this storyline just does nothing for either of them. We get that Yuzu is a cute hard-working little girl who can cook like no-tommorrow, and Karin is a tomboy, who cares for the dead, and in many ways emulates her older brother. Does this episode add anything new or interesting to either of their characters? No, it just tells us what we already know and tries to make is cute like puppies and rainbows. While I do admit that the scenes with Yuzu, Karin, and Snake are rather cute at times, it again adds nothing to the characters or the story.

Overall, it was just a "cutesy" episodes that really went nowhere.

For episode 259:

This is the point of the Beast Swords where things start to go from meh to unholy mother of crap. This episode was just…stupid! At least 258 had some sweet moments to compensate for the sub-par writing, but this…this is just pointless, unfunny, and a complete waste of any Bleach fan's time. Without going into all the canonical issues, the episode just didn't remotely make any sense. I could go on and on listing what was wrong with the episode, but I am saving that for the garbage yet to come. The only thing that really made this episode bearable was the performance of the english voice cast, in particular Kate Higgins. Now, all the english voice actors are very talented and I feel so bad when they can't give more of a performance due to the clearly sub-par writing.

Overall, it was just bad, and it only goes downhill from here.
