BLEACH 330 Review: The Dismayed Lion

Hello Bleach Fans, it's Tuesday so by now we all know what that means, so let's begin!

This week's episode was a good episode, not the greatest episode of Bleach ever made, but it was still a pretty good episode. This week's episode was a plot and character development episode, which this arc needed desperately. Since the revelation about Nozomi on last week's episode, the character development between both her and Kon changed significantly. I love the relationship that they have developed, and I am very happy it developed beyond (insert Kon dialogue here) blah, blah, blah;(Nozomi) Pervert. The writing team has succeeded in making both Kon and Nozomi very likable characters. Since Kon's role in the manga is so minor, he would have never received any development like this. My hope is since Kon's role in the manga as of this point in time is nonexistent, the writing team will leave Kon with Nozomi to fill up the plot hole (it's not really a plot hole, since in a omake in the manga it is revealed that squad 12 took Kon) of where Kon is. I think it would be a good write off for Kon, instead of him inexplicably disappearing like he did in the manga.

I also like the fact that it is clear that Inaba is not the main boss in this arc. I really want more development into that whole situation. The only thing that really made me groan in this episode was Yamamoto. That whole fight between Yamamoto and the Regai has just left me confused. That fight is almost exactly like the Kensei and Wonderweiss fight, expect we know the status of the participants. I can assume that Yamamoto lost since Unohana is healing him, but it looked like he was about to burn the Regai alive, so what happened!? I can bet you $5.00 that it will never be brought up again, so as much as it makes me cringe, I just have to move on.

I thought the omake was adorable, and we actually heard Yamamoto not talking in monotone.

I completely forgot to mention that we have a new ending. The ending is Haruka Kanata by UNLIMITS . I really like the music and the montage in this ending. What I believe was said on twitter by several Bleach staff members, is that each week a new season will be highlighted. I could be wrong on this but I am pretty positive on this one. The official 10th anniversary for Bleach is the August 1-8 issue of Weekly Shonen Jump (thus why a volume is always released on August 4th, which is by b-day also), so this is ending is a great way to celebrate it.

Overall, I thought it was a good episode, and I can't wait for next week.
