Finally the last one shot before the filler arc(I never thought I would be so happy to see a filler arc)! You know the routine, let's begin!
First, I have not dared to look at the Hitsugaya X Karin (the favorite nonexistent "in every form of the word" pairing) pairing forums(which I gladly mock from afar) for fear of my own personal sanity. Besides that, I thought this was a pretty decent episode. It was a great way to end the series of one-shots(thank you Pierrot for not making a bunch of one-shots to the level of complete garbage that was the Tōjū mini-arc *shutters*). I thought it was a good character development episode for Karin in particular, because she really has not had any substantial character development since the beginning of the arrancar arc. It showed that Karin's character isn't just being a tom-boy and making backhanded comments, but that deep down she does care for others, and I believe a lot of fans tend to forget that aspect of her personality. I also thank Pierrot for not killing Haru (I'm still upset about Masayoshi). Throughout the episode I was thinking to myself "Pierrot please don't kill the cute old lady." I also found that the character design and character animation was well executed. I have found that over the last 4 or 5 months or so, the overall character design and key character animation has improved dramatically. Although Bleach's overall animation and character designs have been visually appealing throughout the course of the series (unlike certain other shonen jump anime I refuse to name), there has been a consistency of quality that has not declined, and I really hope it stays that way. Overall, I don't really have anymore constructive comments or personal criticism on the episode.
- Story 7/10

I give Bleach episode 316 a 7.5 out of 10.
A heads up to everyone next week's review will be long. I will being reviewing the new op and ed, so farewell Ranbu No Melody you have officially become my favorite opening in Bleach, you will be missed! As for the arc itself from what I saw in the preview, the only word I can use to possibly describe it is...interesting. The way I see it, one of two things could happen. Either A, it could be the best Bleach filler arc ever! Or B, it could bomb harder than Charlie Sheen's live show! Only time will tell!
Also, don't forget to join me on Saturday when I review Bleach 199 english dubbed.
