Hello Bleach dub fans, sorry for the delay, but Lemursrule needs her sleep too. With that said let's begin.

This episode once again proves that the english adaptation of Bleach is one, if not the best adaptation of an anime in the shonen action genre. Bleach is just one of those shows (Like Cowboy Bebop and Fullmetal Alchemist) that really translates well with an American audience. Not to get too off topic, but the reason I think it works (other than good script writers and actors) is because Bleach has that balance of Western humor, action, and story, but also throws in bit of Asian culture here and there to give it a foreign appeal that seems close to home. Now to get back on topic with the episode itself.

This is definitely one of the "strangest" episodes of Bleach. This is also one of the episodes I was glad (along with several other users of the wiki) was censored (and no, I am not going to elaborate on that). Not too much happened in the episode (which will become a more common occurrence unfortunately), but it still did the job it had to do.

My favorite performances in the episode were of course Troy Baker as Charlotte, and Brian Beacock as Yumichikia. Charlotte...heh heh...Charlotte was interesting? Just kidding (sort of), I thought Troy did a great job with him. Plus god bless the guy for saying lines like "Beautiful Charlotte Chuhlhourne's Miracle Sweet Ultra Funky Fantastic Dramatic Romantic Sadistic Erotic Exotic Athletic Guillotine Attack" and "Beautiful Charlotte Chuhlhourne's Perfect Stylish Dangerous Psychedelic Valuable Economical Continental Incredible Unbelievable Shining Attack" all in one breath! Good god, I can only imagine how many takes that took, plus to do it in such a high-pitched voice, is amazing! Plus I love Reina De Rosas command in english being Glitter, thank you Studiopolis for adding more to my possible future memes about glitter. I also love Brian as Yumichika, and I thought he did a good job too. I also thought the rest of the cast did a good job too!

Overall it was an "interesting" episode, and I can't wait for next week.

Final Rundown

  • Story 7/10
  • Art/Animation 8/10
  • Sound Effects 10/10
  • Script adaptation 10/10
  • Music 8.5/10
  • Acting 10/10

I give Bleach 217 a 8.9 out of 10. Remember to join me on Tuesday when I review Bleach episode 335, and join me next week when I review Bleach 218 dubbed. Until Next Time!
