Hello Bleach fans it's time to review a brand new english dubbed episode of Bleach. It is the long awaited beginning of the english adaptation of the Fake Karakura Town arc: Part 1. First off I loved this episode and the english adaptation was phenomenal in my opinion. It was nice to see Saidō again. Even though he is an anime-only character, he still has a special place in my heart.
Speaking of hearts, I have to give a huge "Tip-Of-The-Hat" to Tony Oliver and Stephanie Sheh. Both of their performances really stole the show for me. I believe episode 215 has some of the best acting from Stephanie that I have heard in a long time. Although I have always enjoyed Stephanie's portrayal of Orihime, it was really important that she got this right, because this is really a turning point in Orihime's character. I really felt the emotion that Stephanie put in her voice. It was a little different from Yuki's interpretation, but I consider the English and Japanese versions of Orihime to be two different characters. The Japanese Orihime is more ditzy and emotional, while the English Orihime stays closer to her manga counter-part and screams ADHD and is also emotional, but her emotions are more subtle at times. I love both versions, but Stephanie really hit it out of the park this episode.
Tony Oliver did a fantastic job as Ulquiorra. I know a lot of people were unsure about Tony when he was casted, but he has done an excellent job each and every episode. This episode was his best performance as Ulquiorra to date. He handled "the heart" speech exquisitely. I like the fact that he made Ulquiorra's voice a tad deeper. It's very subtle, but it really helps the performance. I will be very sad when episode 272 dubbed airs next summer (hopefully).
Everyone else gave fantastic performances and I can't wait for next week.
