Well, after a long day of allergies galore (Allegra and eye drops can only go so far), it was a night of happiness for me. Both a new manga chapter and dub episode, life really doesn't get much better!

Well, this was definitely the psycho laugh episode! David Lodge wins the Raver Award for best laugh. Everyone really gave it their all in this episode. The acting was top notch, and the scripting was A LOT better this week that last week's episode(where dammit, and Kenpachi have become the english dub's Kurosaki-Kun). The one thing I liked most about this episode was Michael staying true to the character of Nnoitra, but having it be different from Nobutoshi Canna and making the role his own. I find Mike's Nnoitra to be more "human" and "sympathetic" so to speak. I felt like I could feel for Nnoitra and I started to feel a bit sorry for him. While Canna definitely brings out the crazy, I in all honest opinion could not really connect with him on an emotional level. The other performance that really got to me was Colleen as Nel(both child and adult). I have said numerous (and I do mean numerous) times how much I love Colleen as Nel. Even though she only had about 2½ minutes of screen time, it was some of the best acting from her I have seen in a while, and a great performance dub wise. I love the part where she says"You Amaze Me," that was so Nel on so many levels, and the way she said it perfectly. Ok enough fan-girling from me, let's continue.

Overall an excellent Bleach episode, but in the edited version of Sky Cord near the end, the credits show the famous Aizen-Orihime Pedo-moment was both strangely funny and disturbing at the same time (just like this rapping dog bit from Titanic the animated musical, I swear to GOD THIS IS REAL [1])

Final Rundown

  • Story 8/10
  • Art/Animation 9/10
  • Sound Effects 10/10
  • Script adaptation 10/10
  • Music 10/10
  • Acting 10/10

My final Score for Bleach episode 202 dubbed is a 9.5 out of 10. Remember to join me on Tuesday when I review Bleach episode 320, and join me next week when I review Bleach 203 dubbed.
