Since the content of the 74th and final volume of Bleach was leaked online a few days prior to it's official release, many fans are complaining about the lack of extra content it holds... Which is reasonable I guess.

However, following it's official release today, it seems like we won't be left with an empty void of nothingness after all: there is apparently an announcement for two novels on the wrap around the volume jacket; the first one being about "Renji and Rukia's story", which will be released in December of this year and the next one will be about "Hisagi's battle", which is due for a release in 2017.

Renji and hisagi novel

Volume wrap announcement

I have no information about when the two novels are set within the Bleach timeline. I'm guessing it's during the 10 year time-skip for Renji and Rukia but I'm not so sure about the one for Hisagi.

So yes, we will get extra content for Bleach! (Albeit in the form of novels) I really hope we have pages of sketches like Bleach: Spirits Are Forever With You and The Beginning of The Revive of Tomorrow did.

Personally, I don't really care about Rukia and Renji. I feel like their stories have been shown enough in the manga itself. I am more looking forward for the novel about Hisagi and his supposed battle. Will we finally get a glimpse of his never-used Bankai?? I hope so!

I am extremely happy that we have new content for Bleach and I cannot wait for these novels to come out. But, With that being said, I'm still a little upset that we don't get any news on other characters that lacked screen time during the final arc such as the Vizards, Izuru Kira and his "nauseating Bankai" as well as the fates of Urahara, Yoruichi, Grimmjow and Nel along with the Soul King etc.

Anyway, I think I've said enough already. So, show my first blog some love and let me know what you guys think in the comments below! (If anyone reads this lol)

EDIT: Even if we are actually lucky enough to get a peak at Hisagi's Bankai, I really hope it won't be a disappointing, lacklustre one just like how the few latest ones were.. It has to be at least better than Ichigo's ever-breaking one.

UPDATE:

Renji and Rukia's story will be written by Makoto Matsubara

Hisagi's Battle will be written by Ryōgo Narita
