As a Bleach fan and reader of Fanfiction, I've seen a lot of people complain about filler arcs, so I'm going to weigh the goods and bads of the Filler Arcs.
First and foremost, there's the timing to think about. Sure, we'd all love to hear Nel as an adult (though, she'll most likely sound the same), and I'd like to see Byakuya fight against Zommari, but I think it's a general rule that Shonen Jump stays a little ahead of Bleach so Adult Swim isn't revealing anything ahead of the time. Personally, I'm willing to wait for the animated fights on TV because I get Shonen Jump every month. Plus, I can imagine the voices more or less.
Second, some characters have some interesting backgrounds. I, more or less, enjoyed the whole Bakkouto thing and the fight against Shusuke and Kibune. Truth be told, I also liked Rurihttp://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/Special:CreateBlogPagechiyo, though she reminds me of Princess Peach somewhat, and I fell over laughing at Enryu's voice. And you have to admit, a zanpakuto with Muramasa's powers does make for an interesting story arc.
Third, the filler arcs take our mind off the real arc, mainly because a favorite character is hurt and we don't want to think about it, a battle might be going the wrong way, or something bad just happened (if what I hear that Adult Swim uses an uncut version of Bleach is true, then the Zommari fight will get bloody and fast) and you want to take your mind off it.
Now for the bad: they last as long as a normal season of Bleach, some characters can be really irritating (Like Kibune), the story sounds a little last minute, and you really just want to watch Ichigo beat up Aizen.
I'm neutral on this, as I love filler arcs and normal arcs, but I tend to gripe about each one. (One comment I made was, "Kibune and Shusuke turned out like Aizen, Gin and Tosen!") Again, I'm remaining neutral, but I'd like people to see the good side of arcs for once instead of acting like they're Hollows.
