The Raging Storm! Encounter with the Dancing Arrancar is the one hundred and fifty-first episode of the Bleach anime.
Ichigo Kurosaki battles against one of the Privaron Espada, Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio.
Summary[]
In a long corridor filled with arches, Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio stands behind a running Ichigo Kurosaki and moves to the top of one of the arches with Sonído, where he looks down with amusement before preparing to follow Ichigo, only to stop upon sensing something. Down below, Ichigo hears footsteps approaching him from behind and turns to see Nel Tu tearfully running after him, to his shock. With Nel not listening to him urging her to turn back, Ichigo prepares to forcibly send her back.
However, Nel initiates Chōkasoku and slams into his midsection, knocking a stunned Ichigo on his back as Nel claims that she missed him so much. Grudgingly accepting this, Ichigo questions where the others are, and when Nel reveals she left Bawabawa outside because he needs to constantly eat sand to live, Ichigo clarifies that he is referring to Pesche Guatiche and Dondochakka Birstanne, though he cannot remember the latter's name and mixes him up with Don Kanonji, whom Nel does not recognize. Upon attempting to point out Pesche and Dondochakka behind her, Nel realizes they are not there and begins crying as she assumes they got lost.
After observing that Nel seems to be the one who is lost, Ichigo is alerted and looks up at the ceiling, and when Nel questions what is wrong, Ichigo tells her to be quiet and demands with a smile that whoever is hiding in the arches above show himself. In response, Dordoni breaks the top of one of the arches by leaping off of it and begins moving along the others with Sonído, prompting Ichigo to proclaim that the former cannot get away from him. However, Dordoni's attempt to deny running away is cut short when his foot slips off one of the arches upon landing, causing him to crash into the ground in front of Ichigo and Nel in an undignified manner.
When Ichigo asks him if he is okay, Dordoni dramatically points at him from within the resulting dust cloud, startling Ichigo and Nel, and begins chanting in a rhythm to announce his arrival, but is reduced to coughing by the dust and leaves Ichigo and Nel completely unimpressed when he finally exits the cloud to reveal himself. After a moment of silence, an aghast Dordoni berates Ichigo's bored expression as him feigning composure after witnessing this grand entrance, though Ichigo bluntly states that he is actually composed, and points out how Nel is not even looking at him due to her eyes being rolled up.
Concluding that this simply shows Ichigo has no appreciation for the finer things and does not matter because the latter is about to be demolished anyway, Dordoni declares that Arrancar #103. will crush him, only for Ichigo to question if Dordoni just referred to boiled celery. Further irritated by this, Dordoni reiterates that he is Arrancar #103 in Japanese, but Ichigo simply notes how high the number is and confirm with Nel that Arrancar usually have a two-digit number while the latter admits that she has never heard of one with three digits. As he Looks at Dordoni with pity, to the latter's indignation, Ichigo informs Dordoni that he seems weak.
In response, Dordoni furiously promises to show Ichigo weak and warn him to not cry about it later prior to lunging forward with a dance-like maneuver and leaping into the air to kick at Ichigo, who evades to the side while drawing his Shikai, Zangetsu, and slashing horizontally at Dordoni once the latter lands behind him. Despite this, Dordoni is able to dodge the slash by rapidly repositioning himself and proceeds to pirouette, jump, and sidestep out of the way of an increasingly frustrated Ichigo's attacks, with Ichigo wondering if he is some kind of octopus as an amused Dordoni decries the idea of Ichigo battling Sōsuke Aizen like this.
Dordoni begins twirling around on his right heel to mock Ichigo's attempts as useless, only to inadvertently step on a chunk of rubble and lose his balance, causing him to fall against a nearby wall with enough force to crack it. However, while Ichigo laughs at this, the cracks begin extending up the wall and into the arch directly above Ichigo, which results in the middle breaking apart and raining small pieces of stone down onto Ichigo just before he looks up to see a large chunk of rock land squarely on his face. Laughing at this in turn, Nel is hit on the head by a smaller piece of rubble, which Ichigo calls punishment for mocking the misfortune of others.
Suddenly, a whimpering Nel falls to her knees and begins clutching her face, and when a concerned Ichigo rushes to her side and asks her if she is fine, Nel springs up and reveals that she fooled Ichigo before clarifying that she is not hurt since only her mask was hit, to Ichigo's annoyance. Nearby, Dordoni gets up and admits that this was not bad as he begins lambasting Ichigo for believing he can win with such poor combat skills, but is interrupted when Ichigo angrily berates Nel for getting him needlessly worried, which Nel claims is Ichigo's fault for mocking the misfortune of others prior to an outraged Dordoni demanding that they listen to him.
Though Ichigo is surprised that he is still alive and an unimpressed Nel calls him excessively energetic, Dordoni asserts that this is nothing to him, leading an exasperated Ichigo to request that Dordoni just end this and let him pass since he is in a hurry. In turn, Dordoni refuses and questions Ichigo's cocky attitude since none of the latter's attacks have hit him, which prompts Ichigo to unsheathe Zangetsu and promise to get serious this time while he and Dordoni move to attack each other. Elsewhere, in a hidden room, Gin Ichimaru finds Kaname Tōsen surveilling the actions of Ichigo and his friends through controlled cameras.
Gin claims this is not very nice, only for Tōsen to counter that Gin has come here to do the same. Stating he was only kidding, Gin is stopped from entering the room by Wonderweiss Margela, who grabs his leg in annoyance. At Gin's behest, Tōsen has Wonderweiss let go of Gin and replies to the latter noting Wonderweiss has taken a liking to Tōsen by explaining the pure are drawn to each other even though he has yet to discover what Wonderweiss's purity is directed toward. With Gin observing this explains why Wonderweiss does not like him, Tōsen asserts any sane person would be wary of Gin and directs the latter's attention to Ichigo's group splitting up.
While Tōsen agrees they are foolish for dividing their forces like this, Gin notes with interest that they are currently passing through the lair of the Tres Cifras. As Ichigo is suddenly slashed across his left shoulder by a passing Dordoni, whom he stares at in bewilderment while Nel calls out to him in concern, Tōsen realizes Wonderweiss probably does not know about the Tres Cifras since he is new to Las Noches and decides to explain them to him. After Ichigo fires a Getsuga Tenshō at Dordoni, Tōsen details how three-digit numbers are a sign of demotion for former Espada and how those who have been demoted in this way are called Privaron Espada.
Back in the hallway, Dordoni splits the Getsuga Tenshō in two with Barón Puntapiés Alto, remaining undamaged by the blast in the process, and smugly tells Ichigo to not judge people by their appearances. During this, Uryū Ishida runs through a narrow corridor and is surprised to find himself emerging in a room filled with several dozen tall pillars before Cirucci Sanderwicci's Zanpakutō hurtles down onto him from above, forcing Uryū to leap away as the disc strikes the ground where he was standing. With Uryū staring up at Cirucci, who stands atop a pillar nearby, Dordoni explains the concept of Privaron Espada to a stunned Ichigo.
As Yasutora Sado finds himself confronted by Gantenbainne Mosqueda, Dordoni concludes that he, Cirucci, and Gantenbainne all have skills on par with the Espada and asks Ichigo if he understands Dordoni's strength yet prior to lunging forward and attacking Ichigo with a downward kick, forcing the latter to block with Zangetsu while the ground ruptures beneath his feet. Pushed several meters back by a struggling Ichigo, Dordoni runs forward and performs a midair spinning kick aimed toward Ichigo's head which the latter barely evades. When Ichigo slashes at him in turn, Dordoni begins repeatedly backflipping through the air to dodge this.
Upon catching up to Dordoni, whose increased speed he is shocked by, and slashing once more, Ichigo is startled to see Dordoni disappear from his sight with Sonído and wonder if Ichigo really believed this was his full power before rushing toward Ichigo with a flying kick, pushing the latter back when he blocks with Zangetsu, and jumping into the air, where Dordoni swings his foot up to tear through several more arches prior slamming into Ichigo with enough force to send him crashing through the nearby wall into an adjoining room once his foot forces an astonished Ichigo's Zangetsu down from its blocking position.
Catching up to a stunned Ichigo in midair while the latter notices an exit at the end of the room beneath them, Dordoni asserts that Ichigo should not have to look to know where he is going to land and kicks him into one of the pillars lining the room with enough force to crater it. Upon landing, Dordoni lambasts Ichigo's slow reflexes, porous defense, and pathetic spatial awareness as he questions why he is bothering to fight the latter. Suggesting that Ichigo use his Bankai, Dordoni bluntly states that he cannot win without it, but Ichigo refuses and confirms with a quizzical Dordoni that Privaron Espada are not really Espada.
Ichigo declares that he has to defeat every Espada in Hueco Mundo and rushes down toward Dordoni, whom he clashes with before forcing back with a series of rapid strikes. However, while Ichigo concludes that he cannot be wasting his Bankai on someone who is not even an Espada and enters another clash with Dordoni, the latter remains uninjured and expresses understanding of Ichigo's reasoning, only to grab Zangetsu by the blade and warn Ichigo to not underestimate him prior to activating his Resurrección, Giralda, with his partially-unsheathed Zanpakutō, creating a whirlwind that forces Ichigo back.
With Ichigo alarmed that Dordoni can do this without even drawing his Zanpakutō, Dordoni tells him to raise his sword just before Ichigo is attacked by a large, piercing strike, leaving him shocked while the wind clears to reveal Dordoni having gained horn-like protrusions on his shoulders and coiling armor on his legs with spouts near his ankles that are creating two large Cyclones, each creating an additional bird-like wind being with a large and pointed beak. After asking Giralda if it is ready, Dordoni aims a kick in the direction of Ichigo, who is flying through the air, causing one of the bird protrusions to hurtle toward Ichigo from above.
Dodging this, Ichigo moves to the ground below and jumps toward Dordoni to attack him, only for the latter to send his other bird protrusion crashing into Ichigo with El Uno Picotear, resulting in Ichigo being sent flying back despite blocking this with Zangetsu. Upon catching up to Ichigo in midair, Dordoni kicks him downward in the abdomen hard enough to make Ichigo cough up blood, then delivers an upward kick to Ichigo's chin while the latter is falling through the air, but when Dordoni performs a Reiatsu-enhanced leg drop onto his shoulder, Ichigo grabs Dordoni's leg with both hands and angrily throws him off.
Ichigo uses this opening to fire another Getsuga Tenshō at Dordoni, only for the latter to easily twirl out of the way in midair, leaving the blast to hit the wall far behind him, and recreates his Cyclones from the spouts on his ankles to perform El Uno Picotear once again with the bird protrusion on his right, this time smashing Ichigo into the ground below in a huge cloud of dust. As a bloodied Ichigo pants within the crater created by this attack and a laughing Dordoni questions if this is all he has got, Nel watches through the hole in the wall and tearfully worries Ichigo is going to die as the left eye of her mask glows with a strange light.
Arrancar Encyclopedia[]
Gin Ichimaru explains that Privaron Espada are Arrancar who have been demoted from the Espada and that they are designated with a three-digit number in the process, only to be interrupted when Dordoni Alessandro Del Socaccio is pulled in on wires and demands to know why he was removed from the Espada. When Gin explains that this was due to him being too weak, Dordoni denies this and asserts that high-level political judgement must be at work here, but with Gin noting that Sōsuke Aizen probably disliked him for his overly intense facial expressions, a shocked Dordoni concludes that children just do not understand him.
