Tenth Division

The Tenth Division (十番隊, jūbantai), also known as Squad 10 in the English Dub, is one of the Gotei 13, headed by Captain Tōshirō Hitsugaya.

Notable Members
Captain
Tōshirō is currently the Captain for the 10th Division. He is the youngest Shinigami to have ever held this rank.
Lieutenant
Rangiku is the current Lieutenant for the 10th Division. She has held this rank longer than her Captain has held his.
7th Seat (七席, Nanaseki)
- Kōkichirō Takezoe (竹添 幸吉郎, Takezoe Kōkichirō)
Kōkichirō is 7th seat of the 10th Division. Not much is known about Kōkichirō, except being mentioned in passing as Hitsugaya and Matsumoto were discussing Gin Ichimaru's involvement in Aizen's murder.
Insignia
The Insignia for the 10th Division of the Gotei 13 is the Daffodil. The meaning behind this symbol is Mystery, Egoism.
Special Duties
No special duties have been noted for the 10th Division.
In the Bount and Arrancar arcs, whenever there is a problem in the human world, Captain Hitsugaya is the leader of a squadron including Lieutenants and high-level seated Shinigami dealing with problems in the Human's world; this may be the 10th division's duty. However, this may only be for investigative matters due to all prior matters of Karakura belonging to unranked Shinigami of 13th Division. (including Rukia Kuchiki and Zennosuke Kurumadani)
In omake chapters, Hitsugaya is usually seen doing office work, signing papers and filing reports, a job actually intended for his lieutenant. Hitsugaya takes the trouble in doing so, however, as his lieutenant is usually lazing around and nobody is more adept at doing the work. This implies that the division may have been specialized for records. Hitsugaya is also the one who took charge of looking into the records Aizen searched prior to leaving Soul Society.

In the Bleach Bootleg, a section was included with questions and answers from the captains and vice-captains of each squad as part of the Gotei 13 Recruitment Fair. The following was the 10th Division entry for the Recruitment Fair.

Kids who'll drink with me and keep me company.

I think it's a good division.

Mmm, nothing really, I think.

The only division where you can spend all day looking at Captain Hitsugaya, who's very well-liked among both men and women, is the 10th division! We'll be waiting~~ ♥

The 10th division is made up of the reliable Captain Hitsugaya and balanced by the gentle Lieutenant Matsumoto, so I think it's a very good division. I recommend this division to those of you who want to keep refining your abilities. Hah, Captain Hitsugaya is the kind of guy who just keeps soldiering on no matter what you throw at him. And hey, look, his name kind of looks like mine. Whenever I see him I keep subconsciously wanting to give him candy. It's really a good division.
