The Boomerang Tōjū is a Tōjū who convinces Hebi to enjoy his freedom instead of hunting him.

Appearance

The Boomerang Tōjū takes the form of a well-toned man with a multicolored body: while his lower torso is white, his upper torso is black, and there is an arrow-shaped strip of orange dividing the two along the bottom of his pectorals. He wears slightly baggy white pants held up by a thin black belt, which lengthens into a narrow apron with a white arrow shape in the center at the front, and knee-length black boots. Personality

The Boomerang Tōjū is very arrogant and brutal in battle, taunting Renji Abarai after catching him off-guard with the nature of his boomerang's attack and mercilessly knocking Hebi aside when the latter gets in his way. He greatly values the newfound freedom he is experiencing as a Tōjū, and is unwilling to go down without a fight in order to defend it. However, he is very manipulative, tricking Hebi into letting him go so he can heal his wounds and take out Saru, Hebi, and Renji one by one. He is willing to take hostages in order to ensure victory, and takes great pleasure in overpowering an opponent who has lain down their weapons. Additionally, he believes one does not need friends or a master around to bow down to, and that solitude is the best kind of freedom.[3]

At night, after Hebi gets in an argument with Karin Kurosaki, whom he had been staying with, the Boomerang Tōjū appears before him and mockingly asks him how his newfound freedom is suiting him. The Boomerang Tōjū proceeds to reveal he had tricked Hebi into letting him go so he could heal his injuries and take him, Saru, and Renji down one by one, prompting Hebi to attack him. Though he dodges Hebi's attack and manages to counterattack, the Boomerang Tōjū is quickly overwhelmed by Hebi's creative use of his Shikai and resorts to taking Karin as a hostage in order to make Hebi stop fighting. The Boomerang Tōjū easily overpowers him and mocks him for having friends, which prompts Hebi to explain how having friends is a privilege. • (To Kyōko Haida) "Those who are surrounded by friends have it very easy. They will never understand what we have gone through. We have been abandoned by everyone."[6]
  • (To Kyōko Haida) "Our abandonment has taught us not to trust what others say. Others are likely to lie to us. This is why we were drawn together."[6]
  • (To Kyōko Haida) "This is perfect! Your heart is perfectly synchronized with mine! I have been waiting patiently for this moment! Your heart and soul belong to me now!"[6]
