Kagine-sensei (鍵根) is a high school physical education teacher at Karakura High School. He's muscular, severe and very strict. He was very angry when Ichigo was caught by the cameras while he ran towards Don Kanonji during a live TV transmission. He was also angry because Rukia, Orihime, Tatsuki, Keigo, Mizuiro and Yasutora Sado were all present during this incident but did nothing to stop Ichigo. To avoid being punished, Rukia started to act as if she felt guilty about what happened and began to cry. Kagine felt touched and was distracted, along with the rest of the authorities present, which enabled the other students to escape the room.
During the anime-exclusive Bount arc, Kagine made another appearence. He was seen talking to the students about sports. He is currently asleep with the rest of Karakura citizens in Soul Society
