Isane Kotetsu & Tetsuzaemon Iba vs. Ashisogi Jizō is a fight taking place in the Zanpakutō Rebellion. It focuses upon the conflict between the lieutenants of the 4th Division and 7th Division and the Zanpakutō spirit of the 12th Division captain.

Prelude
Added by JirachiwishLieutenant Isane Kotetsu is tending to a wounded Shinigami, when she is met by fellow lieutenant Tetsuzaemon Iba, who proceeds to inform him of the current situation regarding the Zanpakutō. After she gives him a brief recount of the events, he suggests that they head over to the 6th Division barracks, to assist with the numbers of the wounded. Isane agrees with this, as the Shinigami recoils in horror. Iba asks him what the problem is, to which the Shinigami points to a nearby gateway.[1]
Standing in the middle of the gate is Ashisogi Jizō, who was waiting for them. Iba asks what that is, to which Isane speculates that it is the Zanpakutō of the 12th Division Captain, Mayuri Kurotsuchi. Iba is surprised that she was able to recognize it, as Isane states that it has a unique look. In response to its constant chirping, he wonders whether it is trying to talk to them, stating that they have to capture it nonetheless.[2]
Battle
Added by JirachiwishHowever, Isane is quick to stop him, as Ashisogi Jizō releases poison from its mouth. They proceed to leave the area, as Iba grabs the Shinigami whilst Isane uses Hadō #1 Shō, pushing the Zanpakutō spirit backwards. Iba unsheathes his sword, slicing diagonally through the gateway, causing the structure to split in half. He tells Isane that they have to inform the 12th Division captain of this immediately, as Haineko and Tobiume come on the scene, restricting their movements.[2]
Tobiume hurls a fireball at them, which they dodge easily, whilst Haineko releases her Shikai, which is dispersed by a Shakkahō from Isane. Iba thanks her for her quick thinking, as the two Zanpakutō spirits start bickering among themselves. As they prepare to leave, Tobiume fires another attack from her bells, disrupting their movements. Haineko calls out to the wreckage, as Ashisogi Jizō emerges unharmed. Isane fires off a Hadō #31 Shakkahō, which the spirit is able to evade easily, appearing in front of her.[2]
Added by JirachiwishIn a split second, it releases a multitude of blades from its midsection, overpowering her. She falls backwards onto the ground, finding herself unable to move her legs. Iba calls out to her, and attempts to assist the fallen lieutenant, but his path is blocked by Haineko. Tobiume appears before the mobility-stricken Isane, explaining the physiology behind Ashisogi Jizō's abilities. Iba tries to fight his way past Haineko in order to reach Isane, who launches her own counterattack, forcing Tobiume to dodge her attack.[2]
As Tobiume prepares to attack an unarmed Isane, Lieutenant Momo Hinamori intervenes, blocking her Zanpakutō's strike. Momo greets Isane, forcing Tobiume onto higher ground, as Lieutenant Rangiku Matsumoto intervenes in a similar fashion, forcing them onto the rooftop. Haineko claims that their past victory was due to surprise, which causes Rangiku to insult her Zanpakutō spirit. As they are talking, Ashisogi Jizō approaches them from behind, releasing its poison mist, which proceeds to engulf them.[2]
Added by SunXiaAshisogi Jizō proceeds to follow them, as the lieutenants flee from the Zanpakutō spirit and its poison mist. Iba and Rangiku are forced to carry the mobility-stricken Isane, whilst Momo tries to ward off the pursuing Zanpakutō. She turns, releasing a barrage of Hadō #31 Shakkahō spells, which Ashisogi Jizō is able to dodge easily. Momo uses the temporary diversion to flee, as an enraged Ashisogi Jizō emerges, and releases Bankai, taking on a huge caterpillar-like form, exuding poison from its mouth.[3]
As it pursues them, the Shinigami find themselves hopelessly outmatched, as Ashisogi Jizō gains upon them. It increases its speed, crashing through several buildings in its wake, as they emerge from the ruins seemingly unharmed. As Momo leaves the confines of the building, she collapses from poison inhalation, only to be caught by Rangiku, who also collapses due to the poison. Isane follows next, as Iba is the last to collapse alongside his Shinigami comrades.[3]
Aftermath
The 4th Division proceeds to take Isane Kotetsu, Tetsuzaemon Iba, Rangiku Matsumoto, and Momo Hinamori to their barracks, in which they are cured from the effects of Ashisogi Jizō's poisoning.[3]
