This is a list of important terms found in Bleach.
- Arrancar
- Arrancar are Hollows that have gained Shinigami-like powers by removing their masks.
- Chain of Fate
- The chain of fate is a chain that connects the Human body to its soul; removal of it will cause death.
- Encroachment
- Encroachment is when a plus begins the process of transforming into a hollow, once the Chain of Fate is separated from a spirit.
- Garganta
- A Garganta is a gate used by menos and Arrancar class Hollows to travel between the Human world, the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo.
- Gotei 13
- The Gotei 13 are the 13 Divisions that protect Soul Society.
- Hollowification/Shinigamification
- These terms are used to decribe the process in which Hollows gain Shinigami powers and vice-versa.
- Hōgyoku (Orb of Distortion)
- The Hōgyoku is an orb created by Kisuke Urahara in order to break the boundaries between Shinigami and Hollows.
- Kidō (Demon Arts)
- A group of techniques that Shinigami use to focus their Spiritual Energy into magic spells which serve a wide variety of uses such as healing, defense, or combat.
- Reiatsu (Spiritual Pressure)
- Reiatsu is the physical force/pressure that a person’s Reiryoku creates when released.
- Reiraku (Spirit Threads)
- Reiraku are the visualization of Reiryoku into threads which a spiritually aware person can follow.
- Reiryoku (Spiritual Energy)
- Reiryoku is a power aligned with the spiritual sensitivity and willpower of the user.
- Reishi (Spirit Particles)
- Reishi are the particles which compose everything in the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo.
- Ryoka
- A Ryoka is a term given by Soul Society to invaders.
- Senkaimon
- Senkaimon are gates used to travel between the human world and the Soul Society.
- Shinigami (Death God/Soul Reaper)
- Shinigami are the balancers of Souls between the Human world and the Soul Society.
- Soul Society is the afterlife, where dead spirits are sent, and where the Shinigami reside.
- Zanpakutō
- A Zanpakutō is the main weapon of the Shinigami, the Arrancar and the Vizard.
