Gitano Shigeo is a teenager who was offered the parakeet in which Yūichi Shibata's soul resided, but refused because it was cursed. He was saved from a enormous steel beam by Chad. He is later again seen with his friend Harutoki and Chad on their way to get something to eat, he even goes to say that he'll die if he doesn't get anything to eat. He was again saved by Chad when they are suddenly attacked by a Hollow. He is usually seen carrying a guitar case, suggesting he may be a musician.
It's very likely that he, along with the rest of the inhabitants of Karakura town are asleep on the outskirts of Rukongai in Soul society.
Appearance
Shigeo has a normal look about him. He wears a regular T-shirt with a short-sleeved button up and a Hawaiian-style print shirt over it. He has shoulder length, blonde hair and a gotee much like that of Ishhin Kurosaki or Kisuke Urahara. He is usually seen with his guitar case on his back.
Personality
He has not been in either the anime or manga long enough to show his true personality, though he seems to be the average young-man. He seems to live life day to day and paycheck to paycheck. He is a cheapskate threatening to make Chad pay for the food if they arrived after the special.
