Okay umm I recently went out and purchased a bunch of Bleach volumes. You know, the official ones in English by VIZ? Right those. So I was reading through them and some of the spellings are different than on here. I'm not just talking about the whole "Soul Reaper" thing - I know that's already been dealt with. I'm talking about specific things like character names. Such as the Arrancar Ilfort Grantz. His name in particular has been bugging me for a while. Despite being spelled this way ("Ilfort Grantz") in the official manga, his name is not spelled this way on his page. I once tried to change it but it was reverted. I realize I wrote that it was the 3rd Phantom videogame which spelled his name that way, and I did not mention the manga. But this is because of two reasons. One, it's true, and two, I didn't read the official volume yet. Anyway, my point is that I don't understand why the official English release name spellings are not included in various articles. I haven't actually found other examples specifically, but there's bound to be a few out there on this wiki. Once again, I'm trying to say that not just this character's page, but all (or at least most) of the pages should have the official translation on the page. Again, this is my opinion, but I think it's a valid thing to bring up. Just wanted to bring this to your attention and hopefully I'm not speaking out of turn here. The basic view of the site is to use the actual manga kanji to determine what is actually being said. Scanalation groups are by and large rushing to put out information and taking the closest meanings though not necessarily the most accurate. Alongside that Viz translations are commonly either inaccurate or westernize to the point that the eastern concept is lost. We basically take the manga kanji as originally written by Tite Kubo and translate the names, techniques and the like as they are portrayed in its original format. Viz can't be trusted to accurately relate this majority of the time. In response there are some pages that does feature the viz translation or english dub as well. So In fact the wiki is immensely accurate more so then the official publisher Viz would pertain to be by staying true to what Kubo was originally relaying in his material instead of westernizing as so many things get when brought over here. In short we don't really rely on Viz stuff as they commonly change what Kubo originally had intended for more of a western take. Salubri (Talk) 00:10, July 20, 2010 (UTC)
