The Mystery of Ichigo

Ever since it was brought up by Aizen, I've been trying to understand what he meant by the truth about Ichigo. We never do hear about it since Isshin stepped in and interrupted. On top of that, these mysterious individuals from The Lost Substitute Shinigami Arc, particularly the one Ichigo saved, says that Ichigo shouldn't know enough about his family. The only thing that seems to make sense, is that Ichigo, may not even be Ichigo. His name may not even be his, despite the fact he's lived all his life with that name. I can only assume we'll learn more in later chapters, but this sounds like he may have a connection to the Royal Family. The only reasons I came to this conclusion would be the following:

  • Aizen mentions his strong reiatsu is connected to something Ichigo does not know about
  • Kūgo Ginjō says something odd about how Ichigo really shouldn't know enough about his family, especially his "supposed" father
  • The fact Ichigo seems to be noticeably generating reiatsu, despite using a Zanpakutou's ultimate technique

Another plausable guess is that he may have other connections (Royal Guard), and that he's not fully ready to comprehend them, which was why Isshin interrupted Aizen.

This is only speculation, and I cannot back these claims. Whatever results from future manga will reveal everything, soon.Lokker G (talk) 19:10, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

O for the love of... I am so tempted to slap a delete notice on this. Isshin WAS the answer! The "truth" about Ichigo is that he's the son of a Shinigami and a Human! That's the big mystery that Ichigo didn't know until Isshin turned-up! That's why Ichigo's first thought after seeing Isshin was "Oh, what Aizen said was drowned in the explosion but that's cool, I have my answer. OMG my father, who couldn't even see ghosts, is a Shinigami!!!" So your first point is mute. As for the rest, some of it was just a bad attempt at getting Ichigo to distrust those around him by the new guy (whatisname). The rest we just have to wait for revelations. But I strongly suspect, nothing, NOTHING Kubo has planned is as dramatic as what people are expecting. Especially since his big revelation goes totally over peoples head and they are still waiting for the big revelation as this post seems to demonstrate. Tinni (Talk) 19:57, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

This same topic keep getting brought up this is discussed at length on another forum. Ichigo is the child of a (human) misaki and then the....arrival of isshin (shinigami). This is stated in the manga very simply. That was the answer to the rest of the sentence given physical form, hence why it wasn't necessary to say. Now speculation on the sight is simple if its probable from information in the storyline then speculate if its not then dont. To state anything like his name isn't his name or or he may not be himself, or it maybe a connection to the royal family is fan fiction. Why? where does it even go a hint that such a thing is a probable course of the story. Aizen reasoning of Ichigo's great reiatsu was already answered. Kugo states he shouldn't know a thing about his family, not yet anyway. Simply insisting Ichigo didn't know everything he thought he knew about his family. He never said Isshin wasn't his father or even mentioned his father in the conversation. The last part about the Royal Guard is also pure fan fiction. If you want to know whats going on read the manga and stop making up storyline and read the information they have given you which is a basic answer without hidden meaning. If you continue to make up stuff then specualtion policy does allow you to be blocked. We can't allow misinformation anywhere on the sight especially information that isn't backed by information already presented. --Salubri (Talk) 20:12, December 1, 2010 (UTC)

Inconsistencies regarding dialogue

Fair enough, Ichigo's inheritance is dead obvious; Isshin is a Shinigami, and his powers were passed onto his son. The thing that's bugging me, is why go through the song and dance of displacing Ichigo's concerns, and saying he knew about him since he was born. It's not the same BS discussed in the other forum, and I made it clear I've got nothing to back this up, so please don't hack me down, yet ignore that fact. Aizen stated that Ichigo was more than the child of a living human and a Shinigami. He may have a God-complex, but it's hard not to supress the curious notion there might be something to what he said. This has gotten out of hand, so, either understand I'm not attempting to muck up the Watercooler with speculation and half-***ed theories, or remove this, so it's never brought up again.Lokker G (talk) 21:19, February 8, 2011 (UTC)

We already gave you the answer. Aizen never said he was more than the child of a human and a Shinigami. He said because he was the child of a Human and... dialogue gets broken up by Isshin's arrival, completing the sentence. There is nothing more to it. Aizen says he has known about Ichigo from birth, how he has is not known but Ichigo is merely the child of a human and a Shinigami--God (Pray) 21:23, February 8, 2011 (UTC)

Yea there is too much reading into this point. He never says that Ichigo "was more than the child of a human and a shinigami" as you claim. He says Ichigo has led a special existence from the moment of his conception because he is the child of a human and shinigami. Thats all I had to say.--Salubri (Talk) 21:42, February 8, 2011 (UTC)

  • sigh* Now it starts to get complicated... The current chapter has shown a lot of stuff for the imagination to work with. Ichigo, apparently, is part Quincy. I won't give out any half-brained theories, but there are three things other people may theorize from the info in the current chapter

1. Aizen's line about Ichigo's "secret" lineage was cut off before he revealed that he's also a Quincy.

2. Juha Bach has some relation to Ichigo.

3. His mother was a Quincy, and that was the reason she was attacked by Grand Fisher.

Just to be clear, this is my assumption of what people may have thought about the info we've just been dealt. I do not support the theories I've just stated. Whether these theories hold validity in the coming chapters will be decided in next few weeks. Lokker G (talk) 23:17, November 4, 2012 (UTC)

Fullbring

I honestly hope that Ichigo's fullbring is not going to be ripped off from Shaman King. I already know I'm pushing it just by saying that, so I'll leave it at that. I've been hearing all these theories about how as his Fullbring progresses, more and more of Tensa Zangetsu will be revealed. I, for one, am probably going to let out a yell of frustration if that's the case. Why? For one, that would mean that Ichigo would have no new powers, he'd just be using an oversized Tensa Zangetsu. I honestly hope that Kubo expands on his fullbring being used primarily for defending, and being able to launch the occasional offensive. Because, although it's really not up to me, that would be a much more original idea. An oversized sword for high attack power has already been done. Aeron Solo wuz here (talk) 19:00, March 22, 2011 (UTC)

That's another thing that bothered me (and I know this for certain, this time): Ichigo can now move superfast by supposedly using his powers on his feet. This is starting to look familiar, plus the concept of a personal object being utilized as one's power has similarity to another group. It's still up in the air as to how these people should be classified, but their abilities match what's already been said: The ability to influence objects one is familiar with, creating powerful abilities from them, and are activated by a strong feeling as the trigger: dreams, pride, etc. Not only that, but they can affect their own environment using their ability to pull on the soul of objects and substances like liquid.Lokker G (talk) 18:14, April 11, 2011 (UTC)

Is it just me, or does anyone see the changed mark on Ichigo's badge as a pointer (and pun) to Xcution? (hint: big X in the middle.) Aeron Solo wuz here (If you wanna talk) 01:16, June 25, 2011 (UTC)

I'm surprised no one has pointed out the way his badge alters in position: When he first manifests the blade and hilt, they come out of the sides. However, it changes the markings into a black X, and then rotates so the it's perfectly symmetrical in direction of the blade and hilt. Not only that, the groove in the sheath on his back barely matches the badge shape, until it rotates to fit with the groove.Lokker G (talk) 19:12, February 4, 2012 (UTC)

Ichigo sucks

i think ichigo sucks a fighting

i think that cause his bankai with a hollow mask compares to ulquiorra bare hands

also Shunsui Kyōraku could beat the first espada with his shiki only

soo does anyone agree with me ? —This unsigned comment is by Deathnotefan09 (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Not at all. Ichigo was a fifteen year-old boy at the time. Kyōraku has hundreds of years of experience. So Kyōraku being more skilled than Ichigo in the use of his Zanpakutō is a given. Also, have you forgotten that this is the same Ichigo that put Aizen down when none among the thirteen captains of the Gotei 13, or the eight member Visored, or even among Isshin, Urahara, or Yoruichi could do it themselves? Half the time, the above mentioned fighters were fighting Aizen at the same time. For a fifteen year-old, Ichigo is a very powerful individual. Ichigo's Future

Woops! I did not mean to post on the old thread.

In a recent chapter Ichigo's father and Kisuke Urahara were having a conversation and Urahara mentioned that it would take Ichigo's future away. Most people dont know what they mean but to me it seems that the Soul Society might offer a Captain position to him. I know that it sounds unbelieveable but, in my opinion it would be the logical answer. But I may be wrong. Charon12 (talk) 17:11, August 18, 2011 (UTC)

I don't think thats quite it. I mean the Gotei 13 has problems enough with captains not responding unless they feel like it, sending subordinates out to heuco mundo against orders using a technicality, losing/destroying the very symbol of their captaincy then saying it was "Cheap, replaceable, and in the way" Ichigo has proven he will do what he wants when he wants how he wants, against any order given to him, and usually (initially atleast) unprepared. Then theres the problem of Ichigo being human. How does a captain serve his post if he has a life as a human? My thought was that the future they were discussing was Ichigo's life without shinigami powers, his life as a normal human.Licourtrix (talk) 17:23, August 18, 2011 (UTC)

I never thought about it that way. Hopefully, we will find out sooner or later. Charon12 (talk) 17:35, August 18, 2011 (UTC)

Current Powers & Abilities: Speculations

What we know at the moment is that his power as a Shinigami is restored. What bothers me is that he only had that restored. Is it possible he may develop Hollow powers, again? Also, since his powers were restored by the infusion of roughly a couple dozen Soul Reapers, would it be implied that his Bankai is restored, or does he have to obtain that again?Lokker G (talk) 19:40, September 11, 2011 (UTC)

Personally, I don't feel certain about completely writing off Ichigo's Hollowfication. I'm not saying it's possible for him to get it back, but considering Kisuke's research with Hollowfication, I wouldn't be surprised if he hid that in the sword that restored Ichigo's Spiritual powers. As the person above me stated, we'll see what happens when the next one comes out. I've also seen a "supposed" picture of Ichigo in his Bankai, in one of the online Manga sites. I won't spoil much, but I will say his appearance in this image borrows elements from his old abilities, and new uniform.Lokker G (talk) 21:29, November 29, 2011 (UTC)

Final Getsuga Tensho in the anime

Regarding the Gotei Army Arc , in episode 340 , Ichigo gains his powers back , apparenltly completely since Zangetsu manifests again and he activates bankai directly . Furthermore the preview for 341 shows him with his Hollow Mask . So it should mean that his powers are back and steady . So how will he lose his powers again to lead to the next arc ? My guess is that Yushima will become in a certain way too powerful , and Ichigo will have to use Final Gestuga Tensho again . What do you guys think ? Yeah , we will have the answer tomorrow , but its good to debate eh ? -- User:Mass57 14:22, September 26, 2011 (UTC)

New Bankai Revealed

I've made some rushed assumptions about what will happen, and it's definitely not what I had expected. The manga previews are not something to rely on. Last issue had Ichigo with a mix of different attributes from his current and former abilities (Longer hair, Visored eyes, bands of armour on his face, and a glove holding a completely different sword from the current issue's depiction) in the preview, and it's not clear as to what it would mean if it was confirmed to be canon. Ichigo's current Bankai is similar to the shape of his Shikai, with curved points in the back (three of them, now), and his uniform has affected the new aspects of his Shinigami uniform, with gloves covering his hands, and straps across his front, binding his Bankai uniform.Lokker G (talk) 18:42, November 30, 2011 (UTC)

If you are talking about this, then that is just some fan art that mangastream routinely tacks on to the end of their releases. It is not part of the chapter and is in no way official. Just a bonus bit of artwork for MS' readers. ~~Ууp <talk> 18:50, November 30, 2011 (UTC)

... Just like you

Ginjo's statement in a recent release of having 'Some hollow in him just like Ichigo' makes me wonder - does this count as enough evidence to assume Ichigo still has his Hollow powers and is just not using them? Similarly, does this mean that Ichigo's Fullbring may very well be a result of his Hollow powers? After all, Ginjo seemed to be aware he had had them at one time, although the statement that they 'always knew if another Substitute Shinigami appeared, Ginjo would go after them' makes me wonder if perhaps it's just one factor? Ichigos zanpakuto

Well I noticed when I was reading bleach after watching the anime and alot of the names have changed for examples Zangestu is Kitsuki, has this allways been so and what is going on with the names? Heres a link so you can see what I mean http://www.mangareader.net/94-521-4/bleach/chapter-67.html —This unsigned comment is by Hollowfied (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

The names have not been changed, it is just that the early scan groups got the translation wrong. The kanji used for the names back then are the same as they are now, AFAIK. The names you see in the anime and in the current manga are correct. Yyp (Talk) 10:28, June 12, 2010 (UTC)

Ichigo's New Appearance (Fullbring)

Ichigo has a new look: His former Shinigami shihakusho and the Zangetsu's shikai, made from energy. Whether this developed from his Fullbring focus, or his progression through the training, is still up in the air. It is interesting that this new power has him appearing as his old Shinigami form, albeit a form entirely of energy. I'm looking forward to what this new development could mean for Ichigo.Lokker G (talk) 00:30, April 14, 2011 (UTC)

Ichigo's Voce Actor

Didn't the voice actor for Ichigo play Adam Park in Power Rangers? Captain Skellie (talk) 23:47, January 28, 2012 (UTC)

Yes--GodPray  00:00,1/29/2012

Thanks I knew that Ichigo's voice actor sounded familar but I could not place it.Captain Skellie (talk) 01:45, January 30, 2012 (UTC)

Mistreat

I never really remembered Yammy calling Ulchiorra trash. The only thing I remember is Ulchiorra mistreating Yammy. Like when Urahara attacked Yammy and Ulchiorra used his Sonido and blocked it. Then Yammy got all happy and said "Ulchiorra" in a vey weird voice. Th Ulchiorra hit Yammy in the stomach for saying that. I also remember him calling Yammy a fool. But I never heard Yammy call Ulchiorra trash. Hmm guess I wasn't paying attention.—This unsigned comment is by Mixoris‎ (talkcontribs) . Please sign your posts with ~~~~!

Actually while it was somewhat mistreatment, the way that Yammy's powers work would have been stupid for him to attempt to go into release form at that time which is why Ulquiorra aggressively stopped him. His intervention in the issue between Urahara and Yammy was based on the fact that Urahara and Yoruichi are dangerous combatants and it wouldnt be smart to engage them. Yammy did in fact say when he fought Ichigo in Hueco Mundo. His official statement was "What're you shakin' about? Take a good look at my number. Cero. I'm the Cero Espada, Yammy Llargo. I'm the strongest out of all the Espada you've fought so far. Grimmjow, Nnoitra, Ulquiorra. They're all like garbage as far as I'm concerned!" (Bleach manga; Chapter 379, page 10) --Salubri (Talk) 00:57, February 29, 2012 (UTC)
But still it was funny when he got hit in the stomach. He made Yammy bend over when he did that and cough spit. That was stupid how he said his name ot was just funny. The Dark Troll (talk) 01:08, February 29, 2012 (UTC)

Bankai Training Sword

I'm just curious. Could the sword that Ichigo picked up during the training to fight Zangetsu, the sword shape after the timeskip? As far as I know, it was never revealed. Roydon Namikaze (Talk) 21:36, March 6, 2012 (UTC)

i might be wrong but i think that ichigo had to find tensa zangetsu in the field of swords to be able to defeat zangetsu and learn bankai.--Soul reaper magnum (talk) 03:03, March 13, 2012 (UTC)
