So I was wondering... Anyone knows or at least have a theory on how exactly Aizen Hollowfied Shinji and others? He didn´t had Hougyoku at that time so how could he do that? I am not sure if it was answered in manga or not. Ergroilnin 15:11, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

His experiments failed unless the victim was lieutenant level or above. Even so, they were stuck halfway and dying before they were rescued by Urahara.

That's when Urahara either created or revealed the Hougyoku, in order to "breach the walls" between shinigami and hollow and therefore stabilize them. However, Aizen drove him out of Soul Society right afterward, but the Vizards did get away. A frightened Urahara hid the Hougyoku in Rukia because he couldn't destroy it. I think someone said that it can be influenced like an infection.

I think he used some kind of air borne agent, it explains why Tosen was wearing that breathing mask. As for why Gin and Aizen not wearing one, they either took it off or they are immune to it or it only last so long before it dissipates. Whatever Aizen used to experiment with Hollowfication resulted in some sort of milky white liquid emerging from the facials orifices: eyes, ears, nose, mouth, etc, before solidifying into a mask.Spacedone 06:26, September 14, 2009 (UTC)
