Shinigami

Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto

Was the oldest Shinigami at just over 2,000+ years old.
He had been the Captain-Commander of the Gotei 13 which he founded for 1,000 years.
Founded the Shinō Academy 2,100 years ago.
Yamamoto knew Shunsui Kyōraku when he was a child.
Yamamoto recieved the scar over his left eye from Chojiro Sasakibe's bankai centuries ago.
Yamamoto gained the honorific Genryūsai for the two scars he had on his head.
Personally taught Shunsui Kyōraku & Jūshirō Ukitake when they were students at the Shinō Academy.
There had been no Shinigami born in the last 1,000 years stronger then him.
His Zanpakutō, Ryūjin Jakka was the oldest and most powerful fire-type in Soul Society.
His Zanpakutō, Ryūjin Jakka had the greatest attack power of all other Zanpakutō in Soul Society.
His Zanpakutō, Ryūjin Jakka Shikai alone is feared by even Captain-class Shinigami.
His Zanpakutō in bankai, Zanka no Taichi incorporates the full power of Yamamoto's flames into the blade. The flames within the blade burn anything it cuts out of existence.
He does not compromise on the rule of law and acts as a strict parent to those subordinate to him.
Yamamoto has multiple battle scars all over his body from battles of the centuries.
Due to 2000+ years of experience Yamamoto is a master of Zanjutsu, Shunpo, Hakuda and Kidō.
Yamamoto used his mastery of Hakuda to utterly destroy the body of Wonderweiss Margela.
Yamamoto died eventually at the hands of his age old nemesis Juhabach, Emperor of the Vandenreich.

Suì-Fēng

Is a Master Assassin & Stealth.
Is a Master of Shunpo, (second only to Yoruichi Shihōin) & Hakuda.
Is both the Captain of the 2nd Division of the Gotei 13 & Commander-in-Chief of the Onmitsukidō.
One of only two practitioners of Shunkō.
Her Zanpakutō in Shikai, Suzumebachi can kill in two hits.
Her Zanpakutō in Bankai, Jakuhō Raikōben is rarely used as its an affront to her pride as an assassin.
She has a cold, strict and domineering personality.
She only shows caring and obedience to her former mentor Yoruichi Shihōin whom she is obsessed with.
Suì-Fēng uses a mixture of Hakuda and Zanjutsu in combat.
Suì-Fēng absolutely hates Kisuke Urahara more then anyone.
Out of 6 altercations Suì-Fēng has been involved in she has 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats.
Suì-Fēng is the second smallest and lightest captain in the Gotei 13 at 4'11" and 83Ibs.
Suì-Fēng has survived losing almost her entire left arm.

Marechiyo Ōmaeda

His full name is Marechiyo Yoshiayamenosuke Nikkōtarōemon Ōmaeda.
Ōmaeda is from a minor noble family.
Ōmaeda has a arrogant, dull, arrogant, elitist, snobbish, greedy, glutinous and loud personality.
Ōmaeda is the son of the previous 2nd Division lieutenant Marenoshin Ōmaeda, who is now retired. Though he is uncharacteristically loyal and fearful of his captain.
Ōmeada is the lieutenant of the 2nd Division and Corps Commander of the Patrol Corps of the Onmitsukidō.
Ōmaeda is the largest and heaviest Lieutenant in the Gotei 13 at 6'10' and 332 lbs.
Ōmaeda despite his size is a expert of Subterfuge and Shunpo. He is not that good with Kidō.

Gin Ichimaru

He was the second youngest captain in the Gotei 13.
He is the most mysterious and least understood, commonly hiding his intentions behind a large fox-like smile.
He is a child prodigy having passed the Shinō Academy within a year.
He is a master of manipulation.
His Zanpakutō in Shikai, Shinso can extend 100 sword lengths.
His Zanpakutō in Bankai, Kamishini no Yari can presumably extend & contract 5 times the speed of sound at about 13km.
His Zanpakutō in Bankai, Kamishini no Yari contains a poison that break down cells from the inside out.
Out of the 4 altercations Gin has been involved in he has 2 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.
Gin's killed at Aizen's hands was particularly violent as he was dealt a heavy slash across the torso, his arm was ripped of he was stabbed in through the chest and thrown through a building.

Izuru Kira

Kira is from a minor noble family.
Both of Kira's parents died sometime prior to him going to the Shinō Academy.
Kira is easily worried, introspective, gloomy, and not particularly confident, but very loyal to his division and friends.
Kira is close friends with Lieutenants Renji Abarai and Momo Hinamori whom he attended the Shinō Academy with.
Kira, Renji and Momo once saved Lieutenant Shūhei Hisagi from a group of Hollows back when they attended the academy.
Kira used to be a member of the 4th Division and still carries medical instruments and is well versed in healing Kidō.
Kira is a Kidō expert being highly proficient in binding, destructive and healing spells.

Retsu Unohana

Unohana was once known as Yachiru Unohana.
She is a master of 8,000 swordsman techniques.
She is considered to be the one who invented the art of killing.
Is the second oldest captain in the Gotei 13.
Unohana was originally was and always will be the most diabolical criminal to ever exist in Soul Society.
Unohana was a founding member of the Gotei 13.
Unohana is the original Kenpachi and Captain of the 11th Division.
Unohana met Kenpachi Zaraki as a child and he gave her the only scar she has.
Unohana has a gentle and warm personality that augments her appearance. Unohana is a soft-spoken, polite, and caring woman who uses honorifics when addressing everyone, including her subordinates and the enemy.
Unohana commonly hides her original violent and bloodthirsty nature.
She has been a captain of the 4th Division of the Gotei 13 for over 200 years.
Is the nicest captain and the presumably one of the most feared.
Is the greatest Healer in all of Soul Society. She can heal human/Visored/Arrancar and Shinigami alike. She can even reattach limbs and bifurcated patients.
Is a master of the Swordsmanship art known as Kendō.
Her Zanpakutō in Shikai, Minazuki can be used for transportation and healing.
Unohana has never been shown to engage in a fight, until she was made to fight Kenpachi Zaraki.

Isane Kotetsu

Isane is the second most proficient healer in all of Soul Society.
Isane is loyal, quiet and observant but aggressive and impatient against opponents.
Isane is the one of the tallest lieutenants at 6'1 1/2", to which she is self-concious about.

Sōsuke Aizen

He was the main antagonist of the Bleach Universe.
He is a master of manipulation, having orchestrated plans spanning 100 years and instigated many major events in the Bleach Universe.
He is a highly scientific intellect, that allowed him to create his own Hōgyoku and indirectly contributed to the creation of the Visored.
He is a Master of Swordsmanship, capable of taking on multiple captain-class Shinigami and Visored at once.
Has a reiatsu that is one of the most immense in the Bleach Universe.
His Zanpakutō in Shikai, Kyōka Suigetsu is devastating tool of manipulation, capable of manipulating all 5 senses of anyone who sees it upon being seen upon its initial release and is even still affected after 100 years.
Undergone multiple transformations via the Hōgyoku and now is rendered powerless but immortal due to his connection to it.
Aizen has shown himself to be one of the physically strongest captain-class Shinigami.
Aizen has killed and disrupted the lives of more beings directly and indirectly then any person or group.
Aizen has been in 7 altercations he has 6 wins and 1 loss.
Aizen single-handedly defeated 4 standing Gotei 13 captains, 3 former Gotei 13 captains turned Visored, 1 former Gotei 13 lieutenant turned Visored, 1 Espada and 3 captain-level Shinigami, for a total of 12 opponents.

Momo Hinamori

Hinamori is childhood friends with captain Tōshirō Hitsugaya of the 10th Division.
Hinamori is close friends with Lieutenants Renji Abarai and Izuru Kira whom she attended the Shinō Academy with.
Kira, Renji and Momo once saved Lieutenant Shūhei Hisagi from a group of Hollows back when they attended the academy.
Hinamori is well known Kidō expert.
Hinamori is upbeat, easy-going, trusting, very impulsive, emotionally vulnerable, and naive.
Hinamori had an obsessive loyalty due to Sōsuke Aizen.

Byakuya Kuchiki

He is the third youngest captain in the Gotei 13.
He is the both the Captain of the 6th Division of the Gotei 13 & 28th Head of the Kuchiki family one of the four noble families of Soul Society.
Is one of the most proficient combatants in Soul Society excelling in Shunpo (presumably only second only to Suì-Fēng) and Swordsmanship and Kidō.
He has a aristocratic, cold, aloof and detached personality which he commonly uses to hide his caring side.
He is strict in the adherence of the rule of law and noble superiority.
His Zanpakutō, Senbonzakura is one of the most devastating and flexible in application of offensive attacks.
Byakuya has been in 9 altercations he has 7 wins, 1 draw and 2 loss.

Renji Abarai

Renji is a former member of the 5th Division and 11th Division.
Renji has tribal tattoos on his upper body and his forehead.
Renji has an aggressive, cocky, depressed and serious attitude.
Renji excels in Zanjutsu but is lacking in sufficient Kidō skill.
Renji is childhood friends with Rukia Kuchiki who he also attended the Shinō Academy with.
Hinamori is close friends with Lieutenants Momo Hinamori and Izuru Kira whom she attended the Shinō Academy with.
Kira, Renji and Momo once saved Lieutenant Shūhei Hisagi from a group of Hollows back when they attended the academy.
Renji is the only current lieutenant who has achieved Bankai.
Renji is close to Ikkaku Madarame and considers him to be a mentor.

Sajin Komamura

Komamura is an anthropomorphic wolf, though he is often mistaken for a dog.
Komamura is the tallest and heaviest captain in the Gotei 13 at 9'5" and 662 lbs.
Komamura is a man of contrasts, while he is a kind, loyal and caring gentle giant normally, he is strong and ruthless in a fight.
Komamura has shown himself to be one of the physically strongest captain-class Shinigami.
His Zanpakutō in Bankai, Kokujō Tengen Myō'ō is the largest manifestation of a Zanpakutō in the Bleach Universe as well as one of the most physically powerful.
Out of 5 altercations Komamura has been involved in he has had 1 draw, 1 win and 3 defeats.
Komamura is by far one of the most resilient captains as he has survived being pierced multiple times by the Level 90 Kidō Spell, Having his chest caved in and the lose of his right forearm.

Tetsuzaemon Iba

Iba is highly loyal to his captain. He is tough, battle-oriented, macho and perceptive.
Iba is former member of the 11th Division.
Iba has a working relationship with Ikkaku Madarame.
Iba is the president of the Shinigami Men's Association.

Shunsui Kyōraku

His full name is: Shunsui Sōzōsa Kyōraku no Jirō
Shunsui is promoted to the position of Captain-Commander & Captain of the 1st Division after the death of Yamamoto.
Shunsui is one of the oldest captains in the Gotei 13.
He has been the captain of the 8th Division of the Gotei 13 for over 200 years.
Shunsui is best friends with fellow captain Jūshirō Ukitake.
Shunsui was personally taught by Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto while at the Shinō Academy.
Shunsui is a notorious for drinking, being laid back, lazy and a girl chaser.
Shunsui is one of the most powerful captains in the Gotei 13 according to Yamamoto.
Shunsui is the only known Shinigami with a Zanpakutō made up of two swords while sealed.
Shunsui is known to wear a sakkat and a pink flowered ladies kimono.
Shunsui is one of two Shinigami with a Zanpakutō are a pair in Shikai.
Shunsui is a master of Zanjutsu and Shunpo.
Shunsui uses a mixture of swordsmanship and subterfuge in combat.
His Zanpakutō in Shikai, Katen Kyōkotsu can manipulate reality by turning child games into reality and determine the rules for those games which even Shunsui is subject to.
Out of 5 altercations Shunsui has been involved in he has 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats.

Nanao Ise

Nanao is serious, pragmatic, and loyal and respectful to her captain. She can be annoyed when it comes to Shunsui's antics.
Nanao has yet to revel her Zanpakutō.
Nanao is known to be proficient as a Kidō expert.
Nanao was the youngest female member of the 8th Division 100 years ago.
Nanao was close to former lieutenant Lisa Yadōmaru, who used to read to her the first of every month 100 years ago.
Nanao is the vice-president of the Shinigami Women's Association.

Kaname Tōsen

Tōsen is the only blind Shinigami and sees by using spiritual sense.
Tōsen is seemingly of African-decent.
His Zanpakutō, Suzumushi has techniques based on sound.
Tōsen willingly underwent Hollowfication and thus possesses a hollow mask, as he hated being a Shinigami.
Tōsen has the rare Arrancar High-Speed Regeneration ability.
Tōsen is the only known non-Arrancar with a Resurrección.
His Resurrección, Suzumushi Hyakushiki: Grillar Grillo transforms him into a giant insect-hybrid creature. In this form he can actually see.
Tōsen believes in justice and law and has a philosophy of following the path of least bloodshed. He interestingly enough doesn't follow his own philosophy having killed multiple people and betraying those who have placed their trust in him.

Shūhei Hisagi

Hisagi is the acting editor-in-chief for Seireitei Communication.
Hisagi has three scars running down his right side of his face over his eye and down to his cheek.
Hisagi has a "69" tattooed on his left cheek in commemoration to former captain Kensei Muguruma, who saved his life 100 years ago.
Hisagi is extremely mature and calm, virtuous and believes in justice and not engaging in violence unless absolutely necessary.
Hisagi was famous as a student in the Shinō Academy and was allowed to take missions with the Gotei 13.
Hisagi was once saved by Izuru Kira, Momo Hinamori & Renji Abarai from a group of Hollows back when they attended the academy.
Hisagi failed the entrance exam into the academy twice.
Hisagi was so talented he got a seated position in the Gotei 13, without having to pass additional tests.
Hisagi is an expert in Zanjutsu, so skilled he rarely release his Zanpakutō into Shikai.

Tōshirō Hitsugaya

Hitsugaya is the youngest captain in Gotei 13 History.
Hitsugaya is a child prodigy, having passed the Shinō Academy within a year.
Hitsugaya is childhood friends with lieutenant Momo Hinamori of the 5th Division.
Hitusugaya is the smallest and lightest captain in the Gotei 13 at 4'4" and 62 lbs.
His Zanpakutō, Hyōrinmaru is the strongest of all Ice-type in all Soul Society.
His Zanpakutō, Hyōrinmaru has a lot of potential but is the least developed out of the captains.
Hitusugaya has a cold, mature and serious personality and is easily annoyed.
Out of 9 altercations Hitsugaya has been involved in he has 2 Wins, 2 loses and 5 draws.
Hitsugaya has been in critical condition on 3 separate occasions and had his left arm and most of his left leg cut off in a fight with Aizen.

Rangiku Matsumoto

Matsumoto is well known for her curvaceous figure and very large breasts which she shows off through her slightly altered Shinigami uniform.
Matsumoto was childhood friends with Gin Ichimaru for 110 years, though they became somewhat estranged in adulthood.
Matsumoto loves to drink and is rarely serious, she is vain, easy-spirited and laid back, free spirited, self-centered and loyal.

Kenpachi Zaraki

Kenpachi is the most violent and battle oriented captain in the Gotei 13.
Kenpachi is the only captain who doesn't know the name of his Zanpakutō or his Bankai.
Kenpachi has no skill for Shunpo or Kidō.
While unrefined Kenpachi is one of the most talented swordsman in Soul Society.
Kenpachi is the unofficial adopted brother/father of his lieutenant Yachiru Kusajishi.
Kenpachi is the only current captain known to have attained his position by killing the previous captain.
Kenpachi is a title that means he who , his last name is the district he comes from.
Kenpachi's Reiatsu is so vast and uncontrollable that he had a specially made eyepath to contain it so his fights would be fair.
Out of 6 altercations Kenpachi has been involved in he has 4 wins and 1 draw and 1 loss.

Yachiru Kusajishi

Yachiru is the unofficial adopted sister/daughter of her captain Kenpachi Zaraki.
Yachiru is the shortest and lightest lieutenant in the Gotei 13 at 3'7" and 34 lbs.
Yachiru has pink hair.
Yachiru is the president of the Shinigami Women's Association.
Yachiru has a child-like, cheerful, energetic, fearless and care-free. She is intimidating when annoyed and incredibly loyal to Kenpachi Zaraki.
Yachiru was named by Kenpachi after someone he admired when he found her as a baby as well as the district she was found in.
Yachiru is the only one who is known to be able to withstand Kenpachi's high level reiatsu.
Yachiru is strong enough to pick up an unconscious Kenpachi and carry him with relative ease.
Yachiru has never been seen to engage in a fight, entirely leaving any fighting up to Kenpachi.

Mayuri Kurotsuchi

Mayuri has the oddest appearance out of any captain in the Gotei 13, which he constantly changes with prosthetics and makeup.
Mayuri has heavily augmented his body and even his Zanpakutō.
Mayuri is the greatest scientist in Soul Society.
110 years ago Mayuri was the most dangerous prisoner in the Maggots Nest of the Detention Unit before being released by Kisuke Urahara.
Mayuri has a mad scientist type of personality. He is amoral, unethical, cruel and sadistic and only cares about his research.
Mayuri is one of the most proficient Kidō users in Soul Society.
His Zanpakutō, Ashisogi Jizō fits his cruel personality as it can paralyze via cut while still allowing feeling.
His Zanpakutō in Bankai, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō is one of the largest manifestation of a Zanpakutō in the Bleach Universe.
His Zanpakutō in Bankai, Konjiki Ashisogi Jizō breathes out a deadly poison that is derived from Mayuri's blood.
Out of 3 altercations Mayuri has been involved in he has 2 wins and 1 lose.
Mayuri has lost his arm a total of 3 times, he has had had a 85% of his body destroyed and survived.
Mayuri once replaced all his internal organs with fake ones during his fight against Szayel Aporro Granz.

Nemu Kurotsuchi

Nemu is the "daughter/creation" of captain Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
Despite being constantly abused & mistreated by Mayuri, Nemu is extremely loyal and obedient to him.
Nemu is very shy, introverted, and withdrawn. She is also uncharacteristically compassionate.
Nemu is not a true Shinigami as she was made from a combination of Gigai and Artificial Soul technologies and Mayuri's blood.
Nemu is resist to poison, her body has been extensively modified and highly durable and easily healed.
Nemu possesses unnatural superhuman strength and speed.

Kisuke Urahara

Urahara grew up at the Shihoin Mansion with his childhood friends Tessai Tsukabishi and Yoruichi Shihōin who are still his best friends.
Urahara is laid-back, jovial, deceptively cunning, intelligent, care-free, polite, sarcastic and mysterious.
Urahara is accredited as the most intelligent person in the Bleach Universe.
Urahara created a number of inventions, including: Gikongan, The Hōgyoku, Specialized Gigai, Soul-Object Integration, Tenshintai, amongst other things.
Urahara is the former 3rd Seat of the 2nd Division and former corps commander of the Detention Unit of the Onmitsukidō under former captain Yoruichi Shihōin.
Urahara is the former captain of the 12th Division and founder and first president of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute.
Urahara's former Lieutenant is the Visored Hiyori Sarugaki.
Urahara is known to wear Japanese wooden sandals and a bucket hat.
Urahara is a master at Zanjutsu, Hakuda, Shunpo, and Kidō.
Urahara used the Tenshintai to to achieve Bankai in only 3 days.
Out of 3 altercations Urahara has been involved in he was 2 draws and 1 lose.
Urahara is responsible for stabilizing the Visored in their current state, Rukia losing her powers, Ichigo gaining his own Shinigami powers
Urahara recruited Mayuri Kurotsuchi out of detention in the Maggots Nest to become his 3rd Seat in the 12th Division and Vice-President of the S.R.D.I.
Urahara developed a Kidō spell to seal away Sōsuke Aizen.

Jūshirō Ukitake

Ukitake is one of the oldest captains in the Gotei 13 alongside.
He has been the captain of the 13th Division of the Gotei 13 for over 200 years.
Ukitake is best friends with fellow captain Shunsui Kyōraku.
Ukitake was personally taught by Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto while at the Shinō Academy.
Ukitake is a well-respected, caring, perceptive, kind hearted and fair man.
From birth Ukitake has suffered from disease that makes his skin to pale and his hair white. He coughs up blood when physically overexerted and cant be out in the sun for considerable amounts of time. He commonly spends most of his time recuperating.
Ukitake is one of the most powerful captains in the Gotei 13 according to Yamamoto.
Ukitake is one of two Shinigami with a Zanpakutō are a pair in Shikai.
His Zanpakutō in Shikai, Sōgyo no Kotowari is capable of redirecting energy it has absorbed.
Out of 3 altercations he has bee been involved in he has 2 draws and 1 lose.

Visored

Shinji Hirako

Shinji is the current Captain of the 5th Division as well as from 110 years ago.
Shinji has his tongue pierced.
Shinji's Zanpakutō, Sakanade, can effect perception via optical illusion in Shikai.
Shinji has a odd relationship with Hiyori Sarugaki, they show no respect for one another and are quite abusive to each other but care for each other deep down.
Shinji is one of only three Visored shown using a Cero.
Shinji is the unofficial leader of the Visored.
Shinji's former lieutenant 110 years ago was Sōsuke Aizen.

Hachigen Ushōda

Hachi is the largest member of the Visored at 8'5" and 829 lbs.
Hachi is the former Vice-Kidō Chief of the Kidō Corps from 110 years ago.
Hachi's former Kidō Chief 110 years ago was Tessai Tsukabishi.
Hachi has unusual pink hair.
Hachi mainly excels in Bakudō Kidō Barriers and Seals, some of his own creation.
Hachi has stated Orihime Inoue's powers are similar to his own.
Hachi's powers are not made for combat which he tries to stay away from.

Love Aikawa

Love is the former Captain of the 7th Division from 110 years ago.
Love's former lieutenant 110 years ago was Jin'emon Kotsubaki, the father of 13th Division co-3rd Seat Sentarō Kotsubaki.
Love is known for his afro and the sunglasses he is constantly wearing.
Love seems to be close friends with Rōjūrō Ōtoribashi.
Love is the most physically durable and strong out of the Visored.

Rōjūrō Ōtoribashi

Rose is the current Captain of the 3rd Division as well as from 110 years ago.
Rose's former lieutenant 110 years ago was Chikane Iba, the mother of the 7th Division lieutenant Tetsuzaemon Iba.
Rose has a interest in music further shown in his Zanpakutō abilities.
Rose seems to be close friends with Love Aikawa.

Kensei Muguruma

Kensei is the current Captain of the 9th Division as well as from 110 years ago.
Kensei's former lieutenant 110 years ago was fellow Visored Mashiro Kuna, whom he is still close to.
Kensei's former 5th Seat 100 years ago was the man that helped Sōsuke Aizen betray him Kaname Tōsen.
Kensei excels in mastery of Zanjutsu and Hakuda.
Kensei is easily the most serious of the Visored.
Kensei saved current 9th Division lieutenant Shūhei Hisagi 100 years ago when he was a child.

Mashiro Kuna

Mashiro is the former Lieutenant of the 9th Division from 110 years ago.
Mashiro's former Captain 110 years ago was fellow Visored Kensei Muguruma, whom she still is close to.
Mashiro excels in mastery of Hakuda kicks forgoing the use of her Zanpakutō altogether.
Mashiro can stay using her Hollow Mask for 15 hours and never required endurance practice to do so.
Mashiro is one of three Visored shown using Cero.
Mashiro has a childish and immature attitude and is known to throw fits over the smallest things.
Mashiro has unusually bright lime green hair.

Lisa Yadōmaru

Lisa is the former Lieutenant of the 8th Division from 110 years ago.
Lisa's former Captain 110 years ago was Shunsui Kyōraku.
Lisa's personality is that of a slightly more outwardly serious Captain Kyōraku.
Lisa's excels as an expert in Zanjutsu.
Lisa's was close to current 8th Division lieutenant Nanao Ise 100 years ago.

Hiyori Sarugaki

Hiyori is the former Lieutenant of the 12th Division from 110 years ago.
Hiyori's former captain 110 years ago was Kisuke Urahara and her immediate subordinate was Mayuri Kurotsuchi.
Hiyori had served as Lieutenant for 2 separate captains while a member of the Gotei 13.
Hiyori is the most temperamental of the Visored.
Hiyori is the smallest Visored at 4'4" and 57 lbs.
Hiyori is one of only three Visored shown using Cero.
Hiyori serviced being bifurcated by Gin Ichimaru.
Hiyori has a odd relationship with Shinji Hirako, they show no respect for one another and are quite abusive to each other but care for each other deep down.
