Yoruichi Shihōin is the former Captain of the 2nd Division as well as the former commander of the Special Forces of the Gotei 13, She is also the head of the Shihōin clan one of the 4 noble families. She was first introduced in her cat form when Ichigo and his friends where making preparations to go into Soul Society. While initially her past and reasons for depating from Soul Society where unknown some of her back story was brought to light during the turning back the pendalum minisaga.
